ABOUT ME
My Name is Khadijatou Jallow and I am a Girl Scout Pursing my Gold Award project. I am in the 11th grade and believe in education for all. Over this past summer I had the chance to go to Costa Rica on a service service challenge through a Girl Scout Destination, I stayed day for two weeks but it was an amazing and eye opening experience. I had had went to an indigenous village in Talamanca in which i had stayed inside a school of the local community. There I and 10 other girls on the trip painted the three buildings of the school, started a shower and started a concrete base for a preschool since they only had an elementary school.

For my Gold Award I would like to raise books and supplies for the children there. The children i had met there were like none i had ever seen, they were very mature and caring, they gave with what little they had and did not need any technology to have fun and enjoyed the nature and environment around them. With the books they had there they were very excited to read and for us to read with them. It inspired me when i came back to start a project on raising books and supplies to send to them!
